A Stitch Fix day is a good day! I was so excited to get this recent spring Stitch Fix. I asked my stylist, Carlee, for items that would travel well for an upcoming spring break trip to New York, where temperatures will be in that “transitional” period.

With highs in the mid-50’s, it won’t be warm, but it won’t be freezing, either. I’ve always found this a tricky time of year to dress for and so asked for help, and Carlee and Stitch Fix came through!

"Stitch

But first . . . new to Stitch Fix?

If you’re unfamiliar with Stitch Fix, it’s a clothing subscription service that sends you a box of 5 items that a stylist selects for you based on a few things, including a questionnaire that includes questions about your style, size, and budget preferences, what you want and what you don’t want, as well as your Pinterest board and requests you make with each fix. (For tips on getting your best Fix, go here.)

The stylists selects five items (tops, bottoms, dresses, accessories, coats, shoes etc.) and mail them to your door, so you can try them on at home and see how they work with pieces you already have in your closet. You have three days to try them before sending back any you don’t wish to keep in the enclosed, prepaid mailer.

There is a $20 styling fee that is applied to your order, and that is charged whether you keep any items or not. If you keep all five items, you get a 25% discount on everything. You are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.

Stitch Fix Daniel Rainn Syvanna Crochet Yoke Knit Top"Stitch

What I love: the emerald green color and the crochet details at the top.

Seriously, how cute is this:

"Daniel

Unfortunately, that’s where the fun stopped. It’s a little longer and a little clingier than I thought it would be. I’m afraid those aren’t good things. You can see it untucked on the left. Then my sweet teen told me to tuck in just the front and pull the rest of it out. It didn’t really work and you can see I was a little amused at the attempt.

Stitch Fix Eden Society Patina Collarless Jacket

"Stitch

I like the idea of this jacket a lot, and leaving it open, it worked great.

"Eden

But when it came to zipping it, I had some fit issues. It was way too tight across the chest. I love that it’s nipped in at the waist, but it was a little too much so, and it was too short to work well with this top (which is the length of others that I own) when zipped.

Mak Kramer V-Neck Pullover "Stitch

I really like both the soft materials and the price point of this sweater. In theory, I also really like the color and see why Carlee thought it was a great choice but I’m thinking it washes me out. I refrained from using any color enhance on this photos so you could get the full, honest effect.

The Accessory Collective Harmonie Paisley Print Oblong Scarf "The

The colors and the print of this scarf are both very much my style. Part of the beauty of the scarf is that it’s really gauzy, but that makes me worry a little about it snagging easily.

"Stitch

Please excuse the stitch fix tag. I’m also thinking that with the blue it would work well with jeans.

Stitch Fix Liverpool Anita Skinny Pant

"Stitch

My stylist said that these pants fit like leggings, and she’s absolutely right. I liked them. If money were no object, they’d be keepers, but the price is steep for a pair of leggings. I wore these in most of the photos above, so just scroll up for a peek at them on.

Status: Likely returning them
