New month, new Stitch Fix! Hard to believe that 2016 is more than half over and that it’s July already. I found out last month that the stylist to whom I’ve grown quite attached was leaving the company due to her husband’s move, and I was curious to see what a new stylist sent in my response to a request for comfortable, casual summer clothes.

Here’s my July Stitch Fix review. (If you’re new to Stitch Fix, scroll down for an explanation of how this clothing subscription box works.)"JulySeriously, Stitch Fix must employ folding fairies. I love the way the clothes arrive.

Marleena Knit Dress by Loveappella

"Marleena

This dress is a similar print to another Loveapella dress, but that one is a high-low and a different neck line. This is short and a faux wrap dress. That’s different enough, right? Please say right. Because I like this.

I do think I’ll update my profile to say no more blue/turquois print dresses because Stitch Fix has a lot of them and I have a tough time resisting.

Hadlie Side Slit Knit Top by Loveappella

Mira Cuffed Skinny Jean by Liverpool

"Hadlie

This is an example of an outfit that may not photograph terribly well but it felt really good on. My 13-year-old daughter, the photographer, agreed that this looked better in person than it did in the photos.

First the jeans. I was worried about the waist band (see a close up in the video below) but it works. They are high waisted and while that may not be super cool, they cover a multitude of sins and for that, I’m grateful. They came rolled, but you can roll them down, so I like that they can be ankle length, too, and think that means they’d work for a multitude of heights.

As for the top, I love the detail on the sides and sleeves. I don’t know that it screams summer to me, but it’s light, but the sleeves may be nice to have on a cool summer night.

Nolen Printed Detail Henley Tank by Market & Spruce

(again with the Loveappella cropped jeans, styled with Mazzota Cut-Out Flats by Nine West from
this Fix)

"MarketThe jeans that come in petite sizes make me happy.

Now let’s talk about the Nolen Printed Detail Henley Tank. It’s definitely not something I’d pick off the rack, but one reason I like Stitch Fix is that it’s a way to gently be nudged out of my comfort zone. I’m not a girl to mix prints, this does exactly that, and in a pretty bold way.

"NolenAnother Stitch Fix plus is getting to see what I already have in my closet that works with the pieces. This works with black shorts and jeans, white shorts and it turns out I have orange shorts that work well with it, too. It satisfies that multiple outfit requirement, and it’s comfy.

That said, I’m torn.

Dimitri Printed V Neck Dolman Knit Top by Market & Spruce

"Dimitri

This is another top that doesn’t exactly screen summer to me, given the cuffed sleeves that don’t have a lot of give for pushing up and that it’s 30% polyester, which is not my favorite. I’d updated my profile to say none of that. I guess 30% isn’t a ton, but still. That said, I think it makes a good transitional top for late spring or early fall.

I usually prefer smaller prints. When you’re as short as I am, the smaller the printer the better so you don’t get overwhelmed by it. The feathers on this, however, seem fun, and I like the colors. There’s that issue of the dolman waist that’s not overly flattering, however. Hmmm…

So, that’s my Fix. Check out the unboxing video here, and please let me know your thoughts!
