From Vermont maple syrup to lobster rolls in Maine, we munched our way through the Northeast and had a grand time doing so.

We also brought a lot of food home with us so that we can continue to enjoy the tastes we loved on our travels. You can see just what fun items we picked up in this video:

You can learn more about the fun stops where we got the food you see in the video here:

    • Stonewall Kitchen Company Store in York, Maine.

I confess that I didn’t know about the company store, though now I see it written on all the labels on all their products.  I should pay more attention. When I saw the sign right before we hopped on the I-95, I got excited. I was so excited, in fact, that my sweet husband pulled a u-turn and in we went. Love him! The Stonewall Kitchen Cooking School and cafe had already closed before we arrived, unfortunately, but there were so many samples available that we definitely felt like we’d snacked. It would be worth a trip to visit either of those. Stonewall Kitchen Maine
The toughest part of this visit was deciding what to purchase. We bought a lot, as you can see, but I could have easily taken home double that. I’m starting to think that the ability to bring home hot fudge sauce is reason alone to road trip. I really want to go back to Maine and visit here again.
  • The Pantry at the Stowe Mountain Resort in Stowe, Vermont.
    Stowe Mountain Lodge
I was super excited to visit the Ben & Jerry’s in Waterbury, Vermont. Ice cream doesn’t really work well on the road, however, so I opted instead to bring home some Vermont maple syrup from Wood’s Pure Maple Syrup and Mansion House Maple (yes, I did get two kinds of syrup, one with alcohol and one without) and maple sugar from Palmer Lane Maple that I picked up from the cute store at the Stowe Mountain Resort that features local and regional artisanal food products.New England Food Haul
  • Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard in Fly Creek, New York.
Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard
Fly Creek is located just a few miles from Cooperstown and we passed it after visiting the National Baseball Hall of Fame. There is a strong sense of history at Fly Creek Cider Mill, as the mill has operated for 160 years. I adore apples so I loved it, and my daughter loved the fudge. My family isn’t big into cheese, but they had a wonderful selection here. You can find their online store here.

That’s our New England food haul! What foods have you enjoyed on your favorite vacations?
