It’s Valentine in the sense that I love getting fun clothes, took some of the photos with our holiday decor, and I love would love your advice on what to keep.

If you’re new to Stitch Fix, the fun personal styling service that will send you a box of clothes by mail, check out the explanation of how it works below. Let’s dive into this month’s fix from stylist Meredith.

Skies are Blue Colten Lace Raglan Sleeve Knit Top & Kut from the Kloth Kate Distressed Boyfriend Jean

First, the shirt. I pinned this and really liked it. I feel like the lace is fun and the texture makes this top unique. I love that the back is really interesting.

Now, let’s talk about the jeans. While I like texture on my tops, I’m not sure about it on the bottom, especially when it means my pants are distressed. I spend a lot of time avoiding distress, so should the same be true for pants?

Friends, please advise: is there a point at which distressed jeans are no longer age appropriate?  Aside from the fact that 40 is knocking on the door and letting herself in, I don’t think I’ve ever had distressed or ripped jeans. Maybe I’m just not a holes/tears/rips kind of girl. The fact that I almost put my toe all the way through them when trying them on the first time probably tells me all I need to know, but I’d love to hear your thoughts.

41Hawthorn Abrianna Longsleeve Knit Cardigan

This was the cheapest item in my fix, and also my favorite. Love it when that happens! I love the color and the fit of this. This is with a pair of skinny jeans from a prior fix.

Market & Spruce Bernadette Lace Overlay Raglan Top

I was worried when I peaked at my fix when I first receive notice that it shipped and saw two raglan sleeve tops, but I have to say, they don’t seem at all alike to me. (Please forgive the bad photo.) I like it, but I don’t know that I can justify the $58 price tag for it.

I usually adore dresses, but this one didn’t do a ton for me and made me feel bustier than usual. Great.

My stylist suggested pairing is with the cardigan that was also in this fix, which I did here. That didn’t knock my socks off but it won my daughter over. Huh.

So what do you think? What stays and what goes?

How Stitch Fix Works

It is a personal styling service for women. You fill out a questionnaire that includes questions about your style, size, and budget preferences, what you want and what you don’t want. They use that info to pick out five items (tops, bottoms, dresses, accessories, coats, etc.) and mail them to your door, so you can try them on at home and see how they work with pieces you already have in your closet.

You have three days to decide what to keep or send back in the prepaid mailer they include in your box. There is a $20 styling fee that is applied to your order, and that is charged whether you keep any items or not.  If you keep all five items, you get a 25% discount on everything. You are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.

I received no compensation for this post. If you sign up for Stitch Fix using my referral link here, I get a couple dollars toward my next fix.
