While little ones are certainly allowed to dress in costume when visiting Walt Disney World or Disneyland, adults and teenagers are not permitted to dress in costume. Disney Bounding, though, is not dressing in costume and is absolutely allowed. We did some Disney Bounding on our last trip and it was fun. A few cast members got what we were doing right away and commented on it, which was very fun.

This video from Disney Parks shows YouTube star Sarah Snitch Disney Bounding as four different characters, one at each park.

Fun, right?  I love the DisneyBound tumblr account by Leslie Kay, which offers ways to “create looks . . . which represent your favorite Disney character, while having fun with fashion.” Some outfits are dressier than than others, and one thing I love is how she incorporates accessories that are a nod to the character, like the apple pin in this Snow White outfit.

We have dipped our toe into the Disney Bounding waters. Disney Bounding doesn’t need to be complicated. I love the challenge of seeing what you have in your closet that will work. My husband agreed to Disney Bound if we kept it really simple, and a plain orange t-shirt that he already had became a great nod to Tigger.

My daughter dressed as Cinderella one day. Lucky for us, ribbon chokers are back in style and Claire’s had some cute, inexpensive options and light blue headbands. The glitter tennis shoes were both a nod to the glass slippers and comfortable enough for a day at the park. We walked an average of 8 miles a day on our last trip, so comfortable shoes are a must.

I’m trying to decide what DisneyBounding to do at the Disney Social Media Moms Conference later this spring. You have to show your DisneySide at that event, right? I’m thinking that it was a little easier in January when layers were more doable than they are with highs in the 90s in May, but I’m up for the challenge. What do you think – should I do a black sundress with a red and white polka dot scarf as a nod to Minnie Mouse?
