I am desperately wondering the same thing after coming home in tears. What became of the two precious snow leopard cubs after their beautiful mother was killed?
I don’t know anything definite, can’t find anything online about it, but, I do know that Snow Leopards are a rare and beautiful creature that are protected. So I would think Simone would have found a way to save the cubs; to raise them to return them back to the wild.
According to the news in Chinese media, this is not a documentary. The footage of Dawa were shooted from 6 different snow leopard and cutted to make the story. The body of the leopard was true, but not the mother of the two cubs.
I am crushed that Dawa died. This movie has made me very sad. Maybe the fact that it was a Mom trying to support her two kids who only had bad luck and then died leaving little ones is too much like real life.
I was so angry when Dawa died I switched it off and will not watch the rest. I know it’s some sort of taboo for film crews to step in and help animals in distress that they are filming but this was really just too much for me. I am deeply upset that no one saw fit to help her when she had done so much for them. Did she get payment for their documentary? No, they couldn’t even help her feed her cubs. So, buzz off Disney and take your documentary with you.
If there are rangers on the reserve why werent the cubs rescued I dont believe anyone telling me that those cubs were able to catch their own food! They are not ready til they are a year to a year and a half. We are being lied too and since they are endangered why in Gods name wouldnt someone give a crap enough to rescue and raise them to be returned to the wild..only a sick nation would allow that!
Snow Leopards are endangered. This beautiful animal and her babies were used to help this Company make money and they should have helped her -she was injured and had babies to feed. Disgraceful human beings involved – will never watch another animal documentary after this appalling lack of compassion or decency for these rare animals.
Yes, I agree with you… At the first place why they leave the Cubs? They shouldn’t do that… This is extinction creature… High possible they cannot survive… And how they know they found the same Cubs? Where’s the proof?
I absolutely agree! These animals are very rare. Peope have been hunting for them for many years (and still hunt), and so it was (and is) an itervention into the nature. But why in such a case, there is a taboo for the filmmakers for the “intervention” with the help reasons?! Isn’t it just a “money making” and betrayal? Betrayal of endangered animals!

Were the motherless cubs rescued?

The movie doesn’t address that and I tried to find info online, but there was nothing definitive. I sincerely hope they found a way to survive.

This has been haunting me for days. The thought of those poor cubs starving to death brings me to tears.
Melissa says
The film was shot on a reserve, rangers were alerted and the cubs were seen 6 weeks later, eating. They survived.
Kay says
I did some research on it, the cubs actually survived!
Lil says
There was an interview of the Chinese movie maker and he said to not worry, the cubs are fine, so sounds like they were rescued.

The auto corrected “Simone” is suppose to be “someone”.

This movie left me a wreck. To see Dawson dead was horrifying. Ruined my whole Mother’s Day.

I meant to write Dawa (the mother snow leopard). My iPhone autocorrectedher name!

I am still crying, I just watched it.
My question Why not help Dawa?
Did she have to die?
I think it is terrible they showed her dead.

I also wonder about the cubs…where are they??

Wait, WHAT?! Do you have link?
Joshua says
Bit old but the people who shot this footage said the reserve Rangers located the Cubs about 6 weeks after the show.
They we’re both healthy and had even begun catching their own food.

Yes I thought the same thing, i find it cruel that they used her and could not step in to help her when she needed help!
